Introducing Classical Acupuncture
A time-tested therapy, backed by modern research
Acupuncture is one of the world’s oldest healing practices, with a history spanning more than 2,000 years. Today, it is also strongly supported by modern research and clinical practice. Classical acupuncture takes a truly holistic view of health, addressing not only physical symptoms but also emotional and psychological wellbeing.
At our clinic, Flis offers personalised acupuncture treatments designed to support a wide range of health concerns, including stress and anxiety, injury and pain, women’s health (including fertility and pregnancy), digestion, and overall whole-body wellbeing.
Her approach blends the wisdom of Traditional Chinese Medicine with contemporary clinical knowledge, ensuring treatments are individualised, effective, and grounded in real, measurable outcomes.
What Is Acupuncture?
Acupuncture is based on a network of meridians that regulate the flow of energy, or qi, throughout the body. This energy moves up and down the body much like electrical circuits, supporting balance, communication, and optimal function.
When these meridians become blocked or unbalanced, pain and illness can arise. Disruptions may occur due to injury, emotional stress or shock, trauma, poor sleep or diet, or ongoing stress.
Using very fine, painless needles, acupuncture works to restore the free flow of energy and bring the body back into balance. Rather than treating symptoms alone, Flis develops a unique treatment plan for each person, focusing on the root cause of imbalance.
From a modern medical perspective, acupuncture helps regulate the nervous system, reduce stress responses, and stimulate the release of endorphins—supporting the body’s natural capacity for deep, restorative healing.
What to Expect in an Acupuncture Treatment
Your first session begins with a comprehensive, holistic assessment. Flis will take time to understand your overall health, including digestion, sleep, stress response, emotional wellbeing, and any current concerns.
Based on this assessment, she will make a diagnosis and create a tailored treatment plan. Your session may include acupuncture alongside other supportive therapies such as fire cupping, infrared light therapy, ear acupuncture, or Myofascial Release (MFR).
The needles are typically left in place for 25–30 minutes. Many people experience a profound sense of relaxation during this time, and it’s common to drift into a light, restful sleep.
