Muscle strengthening is exercise that increases skeletal muscle strength, power, endurance and mass. It’s now established that this type of exercise, taken at least twice a week, reduces the risk of cancer (and recurrence of cancer), osteoporosis, cardiovascular disease and metabolic disease.

Strength training (also called resistance training) is the use of resistance to muscular contraction to increases muscle strength, power, endurance and mass. It’s now established that this type of exercise, reduces the risk of cancer (and recurrence of cancer), osteoporosis, sarcopenia, cardiovascular disease, metabolic disease, dementia, autoimmune disease.

Strength Training Sessions complement a regular Pilates practice or will work equally well for those who feel Pilates isn’t for them right now. Felipe, our wonderful Strength Coach provides a safe and supportive environment, suitable for everyone - even those who aren’t keen on gyms.

  • What to expect from Strength Coaching with Felipe

    Felipe brings his skills in Physiotherapy (Chile, not currently registered in NZ), Health Coaching, Personal Training and Deep Tissue/Sports Massage and combines that with a friendly, non-judgemental, supportive style to help you achieve your goals.

    Suitable for everyone, Felipe has a special interest in working with clients who never gone to a gym and they want to start to improve their muscle health and overall health. This type of training is beneficial for women who are perimenopausal or postmenopausal (either naturally or chemically induced). Strength training can keep you strong, healthy and energised throughout this stage.

    We understand that barriers to training exist and we hope to remove as many barriers as possible, giving you the freedom to work out at home, using a programme designed for you, at a time that suits you. Pelvic Health complications or concerns can be a common barrier to training.
